LONGTIMERS is a series of documentary videos in
which the history of the Monterey Peninsula during the 20th Century is
told by artists who have lived and worked in the area for much of the
past 100 years. There are currently three volumes in the
LONGTIMERS series:
- Part I - The fine artists of
the Monterey Peninsula are featured in the first volume, including
Sam Colburn, Nancy Johnson, Bruce Ariss, and Gordon Newell.
- Part II - The second volume in
the LONGTIMERS series is a continuation of the
first, and features such artists as Wah Ming Chang, George De Groat,
Hank Ketchum, Joe Nordman, Anne Spencer, and Eve Tartar.
- Part III - Subtitled The Music
Makers, the third volume in the LONGTIMERS
series features the musicians of the Monterey Peninsula, including
Ree Brunell, Jackie Coon, Eddie Erickson, Buddy Jones, Mike Marotta, and
``Papa'' Jake Stock.

hope that the LONGTIMERS series will help to preserve
a bit of the Monterey Peninsula's local history, foster an understanding and
appreciation of the area's fine and performing artists, and dispel a few
stereotypical myths about aging and build a little inter-generational
understanding.
